With over 30,000 square miles of surface area, Lake Superior is the largest of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes and the largest freshwater lake in the world. Our cycling tour winds its way north along the rugged granite cliffs of the lake, through a forest of aspen and birch in their fall splendor. Evenings are spent at quaint inns and lodges along the beautiful coast, where we get to witness the mysterious northern lights over the jet-black expanse of Lake Superior. Our daily rides cross several streams that flow out of the Boundary Waters Wilderness Area and tumble over dozens of dramatic waterfalls as they empty into the great lake. The scenery and history of the north shore will leave you with memories as vivid as its fall colors.
