The starting point of this road cycling tour, Anchorage, is nestled between the Knik and the Turnagain arms of the Cook Inlet, and guarded by the majestic Chugach Mountains.
From here our trip takes us through the rich Mat-Su Valley to Palmer, a farming region famous for producing giant-sized vegetables from the fertile summer soil. Cycling on the beautiful Glenn Scenic Highway, we summit Tannita Pass on a climb with a view sure to leave you breathless! Curving back to the south, our route brushes against the western edge of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve. We ride in the lee of grandiose mountains, many over 14,000 feet. Our days will round out by exploring several glaciers and parks, and our evenings will be spent in rustic, comfortable lodges. The rugged and majestic terrain of Alaska will speak for itself!
