This tour departs from our Moab headquarters at Moab Cyclery.
The Maze District is the most remote section of Canyonlands National Park. This lost land of canyons and desert is one of the least traveled and most inaccessible areas in the continental United States.
We've planned an unforgettable mountain bike trip into the Maze, taking full
advantage of its unique character and outstanding slickrock riding.
This bike tour begins with a descent down the historic Flint
Trail, and follows the curve of the canyons to the Maze Overlook.
One of the trip highlights is a hike through the heart of the Maze.
On the sinuous walls of sandstone we'll pass the Harvest Scene, a
stirring petroglyph left by the Anasazi. The next three days lead
us through the Land of the Standing Rocks and the spectacular Doll's
House. Our ride finishes at Lake Powell, where we board a
plane for a scenic flight over the Maze District back to Moab.
This area is so remote and the terrain so rugged, we are the only mountain bike outfitter to venture this far and offer these remote highlights of the Maze. We have customized our own highly specialized support vehicles to get through this terrain and carry your gear, and in 2007, our Maze support vehicle will be fueled exclusively by vegetable oil.
Though there are a few challenging slickrock sections, the Maze is
a great biking trip for riders of all abilities.
