  Come do a tour with us and check out our Bio-Diesel Vehicles… We currently have 5 veggie vehicles in service. All of our Moab based trucks and two of our Las Vegas based vans run off of waste vegetable oils (WVO). We also have one Bio-Deisel van based in Las Vegas. What's the difference between Straight Vegetable Oils and Bio-Deisel? Straight vegetable oils (SVO) and WVO have similar fuel properties to Diesel fuel, except for higher viscosity and lower oxidative stability. With certain modifications to an existing diesel engine, you can overcome these differences. More specifically, the viscosity of the WVO must be reduced by preheating it, typically by using heat from the engine or electricity. One common solution is to add an additional fuel tank for "normal" diesel fuel (petrodiesel or biodiesel) and a three way valve to switch between this additional tank and the main tank of SVO. The engine is started on diesel, switched over to vegetable oil as soon as it is warmed up and switched back to diesel shortly before being switched off to ensure it has no vegetable oil in the engine or fuel lines when it is started from cold again. 
Bio-diesel is a vegetable oil-based fuel. Though derived from biological sources, it is a processed fuel that can be readily used in unmodified diesel-engined vehicles, which distinguishes bio-diesel from the waste vegetable oils (WVO). It's usually made from soy or canola oil, and can also be made from recycled fryer oil. You can blend it with regular diesel or run 100% bio-diesel. Why is it important to invest in renewable fuels?
